More parking available in Chippenham

In an innovative development there will be more parking spaces available to shoppers in the centre of Chippenham after Wiltshire Council moved its staff parking from Gladstone Road Car Park to the former Bridge Centre site.

 This will mean from 17 December all the 38 spaces in the Gladstone Road Car Park, next to Borough Parade, will be available to shoppers. 

Conservative Councillor Philip Whitehead, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: 

We have been investigating various options to make use of the Bridge Centre site until it is developed. Using it for staff parking increases the available spaces in the centre of Chippenham, and this is especially useful in the run up to Christmas.
