About Nick

I have lived in the area for over 9 years with my family, and love living here. I very much believe in community first and taking pride in the environment we live in.

I was elected to the Parish Council in 2017, representing Bowerhill, and in October 2019 I was delighted to be chosen to represent the same area on Wilshire Council. I understand the issues Bowerhill faces and I want to use my local knowledge and experience to be a strong voice for the area and campaign on issues that will make our area a better place to live and work.

I am committed to ensuring the whole parish of Melksham Without maintains its integrity and independence in order that the rural nature of the parish and the individual character of its constituent villages are preserved...

I currently work as the Deputy CEO for a regional charity providing care and support to empower and enable young adults with Autism and other mental health challenges to live more independent and full-filling lives. Prior to this I spent 2 years as the Managing Director of an Environmental Charity improving people’s lives though improving their communities and green spaces. My career has spanned the charity, welfare, transportation and retail sectors and has given me the opportunity to work locally, nationally and internationally.

I was Educated at Kent University and have an honours degree in Politics and History. I also hold a Master’s degree from the University of Stirling. Before being elected to serve the residents of Bowerhill I had previously served as a Councillor in Corsham and in Hexham up in the North East where I was Deputy Mayor. I stood as a Conservative candidate for Newcastle Central in the 2010 general election and increased the Conservative vote by the highest percentage in the city. I have previously been a parent governor at Melksham Oak; a community governor of a primary school and a Trustee for the Creative Youth Network.

I live locally with my wife Kelly, a Director of a Royal Charter body working with Teenagers, and my son Tyler, who attends the Lackham Campus, which is part of Wiltshire College. Our grown up daughter, Joanne, is a Senior HR Manager in London. I also share my home with a range of animals which, at last count, includes 2 border collies, 4 chickens and 2 cats!

I am passionate about maintaining our rural lifestyle, protecting green spaces and improving and maintaining those community areas and venues that bring people together.

I understand that residents of Bowerhill are concerned about the number of new houses being built and the strain on the local infrastructure and I share those concerns. I am determined to ensure that these concerns are addressed. I have fully supported the plans for the new Primary School in Bowerhill and the extension to Melksham Oak.

As your County Councillor I will work to ensure the currently medical facilities are maintained and modernised and that additional facilities are provided.
