I am deeply committed and passionate about improving the quality of life for the local community...
I have lived in Chippenham all my life. I went to school locally and I have been married for nearly 29 years. I have been involved local government since 2007, firstly as a District Councillor and from 2009 as a Unitary Councillor. The majority of my early career was spent working at local builders merchants with over 15 years working as a Sales Executive. Socially I like to watch all kinds of sports, especially horse racing and I am also keen on collecting antiques and enjoy visiting local antique and flee markets.
I have been privileged to represent the community of Cepen Park & Derriads, an area of which I grew up in and went to school in and in which a number of family and friends also live in. I have had a number of roles and responsibilities, which include School Governor at Frogwell School, Trustee for a period of time at Chippenham Borough Lands Charity and past Chairman of North Wilts and Devizes Portage Service. I am currently the Chairman of Chippenham Town Council Planning, Environment and Transport Committee, Vice Chairman of the Northern Area Planning Committee, Chairman of the Local Youth Network and I am the portfolio holder for Public Protection and Licensing across Wiltshire.
As someone who was brought up within the Division of Cepen Park & Derriads, I am deeply committed and passionate about improving the quality of life for the local community. I also want to see improvements to the town of Chippenham and will continue to work with residents and a variety of partners to see its enhancements.
I am currently working with local residents, both Primary Schools and a number of local businesses on a variety of community projects. I am also delighted to continue to work with the Street Pastors and was part of the project team, which saw Chippenham become one of the very few market towns in the country to be awarded Purple Flag Status for its nighttime economy.
